WVC Alumni Scholarship Competition |
03/21/17 - The Wisconsin Volleyball Conference is excited to announce the 2017 WVC Alumni Scholarship Competition! After a year-long fundraising campaign, the Alumni Scholarship Committee is now accepting applications for this year's competition. The WVC Alumni Scholarship recipient will be announced at this year's WVC Championships on April 7-8.
A main goal of the WVC was to build a credible, varsity-like experience for college athletes who would never have the opportunity to play NCAA sanctioned volleyball. While it didn't happen overnight, it's safe to say that the WVC has accomplished this goal. When considering our league's legacy and how we continue to strive for credibility, a scholarship seemed like a perfect way to leave a lasting impact. Thus, the concept of the WVC Alumni Scholarship Fund was born. After 25 years and 4,000 alumni in our ranks, we believe the timing is right to launch this endeavor which will change the lives of a few WVC athletes each year.
The $1000 WVC Alumni Scholarship is awarded to individuals in their second, third or fourth year of college and are currently competing on a WVC member team. Nominees must demonstrate financial need as well as a deep appreciation and understanding of the mission of intercollegiate club volleyball. In addition, they need to provide evidence of being a good teammate as well as their collegiate and career goals.
For more details and instructions on how to apply, please visit WVC Alumni Scholarship Information and Criteria.
